PWI: Zoya Neely

I’m not having much luck photographing the Zoyas!  I don’t think it’s anything about them, or anything.  I think it’s a mediocre photographer, with a mediocre camera, in a hurry.  So these are blurry!  That said, the color comes through pretty well, I think.  (This is a creme, so there’s no interesting shimmer to get lost, or anything.)

Also present: Monet, the I-must-have-it glitter that caused the giant Zoya haul.  I think you can see color through it fine?  Plus it’s – sigh – the least blurry shot I have.

Zoya Neely:

In overcast daylight. With glitter. And blur. Maybe it’s an artistic choice! (it isn’t an artistic choice)

Much greener in direct sunlight.

I’m not sure about pastels on me generally.  It seems like it’s rarely a good thing.  That said, I think the grey undertones mute the green in a really good way, making it both more flattering on me and more sophisticated than a purer pastel green like Smush.  I think it has a lot going for it!  In some doses, anyway.  Although I actually think the grey is not so ideal for Monet; it might look good over purer colors.  We shall see!

Sorry this post is kind of lame.  Mr Fix-It is having one of his legendary headaches, so I’m distracted.  In penance, I offer the first of probably many shots of Reasons I Hate Leaving This Campus #3047: ducklings.

duck

First there was the duck with three ducklings, then the one with eight. Then the one with three again. Now
this lady has… eleven? Is she babysitting?  (And if that doesn’t cute you right out, I have videos.)

Duckliiiings.

Big holographic hexes!  Colors!  Orange and green and blue and purple!

blur

The only one that’s deliberately blurry.  See?  Colors!!
